On Requirements for ROBOMECH2024 Presenters
and JSME Membership Package
The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) limits the qualifications for research presentation lectures to members, sponsors, and sponsoring organizations.
For more details, please refer to this [link] (Japanese).This rule also applies to ROBOMECH2024.
JSME has prepared a membership package that allows you to join ROBOMECH2024 as a non-member or as a general student without paying the admission fee and the annual membership fee for 2024.
* Registration through the JSME Membership Package is non-cancellable and non-refundable.
* The total amount may be cheaper if you register as a full-time member or a student member after joining without using the membership package. Those who have decided to join are recommended to join in advance.
* Students who enroll using the Membership Package will "not receive the journal", so those who wish to receive the journal should join without using the Membership Package.

Please select one of the instructions below for procedures regarding paper and participation registration, paper submission and JSME membership application.
However, the membership package is limited to the first time admission to JSME.
Please note that the registration site will be closed on April 10, 2024. Please, register by yourself as soon as possible.
- If you are a member of JSME
- If you are a member of an associate academic society that accepts presentations by JSME members in their conferences
- If you wish to apply the membership package (only when you become JSME member for the first time)
- If you wish to apply for JSME membership in a standard way (without the package)
- If you are not a ROBOMECH2024 presenter but wish to apply for the membership package (only when you become JSME member for the first time).
(1) If you are a member of JSME
- Complete the paper registration with Membership category "Member of JSME". Your membership number is required. (due: January 29, 2024)
- Register yourself as a "Member of JSME" or "Student Member of JSME" participant. Your membership number is required. (Complete the registration before the final paper submission.)
- In order to upload your final paper, you are requested to enter the following three numbers: Presentation Registration ID number, JSME Membership ID number, and Reservation Number. (due: March 08, 2024)
(2) If you are a member of an associate academic society that accepts presentations by JSME members in their conferences
- Complete paper registration with Membership category "Associate Society Member". (due: January 29, 2024)
- Register yourself as a "Member of Associate Society" or "Student Member of Associate Society" participant. (Complete the registration before the final paper submission.)
- In order to upload your final paper, you are requested to enter the following three numbers: Presentation Registration Number, Membership number of the associate academic society, and Reservation Number. (due: March 08, 2024)
(3) If you wish to apply for the membership package (Registration cannot be cancelled.)
- Complete paper registration with Membership category “Membership package.” (due: January 29, 2024)
- Apply for a membership in the JSME site. At that time, Select "Robomech 2024 Enrollment Pack" in the Application Information and "For Robomech 2024 Enrollment Pack" in the Payment Method. Please be sure to register an email address that you can contact in April/May 2024.
- Register yourself as a "Non student" or "Student" participant. (Complete the registration before the final paper submission.)
- In order to upload your final paper, you are requested to enter the following three numbers: Presentation Registration ID number, a tentative membership registration number (8-digit number - 5-digit number) issued automatically at JSME web site, and Reservation number. (due: March 08, 2024)
* Your official JSME membership number will be notified around the 20th of each month upon receipt of your payment. Please note that cancellations will not be accepted after payment of the registration fee.
(4) If you wish to apply for JSME membership in a standard way (without the package)
JSME issues official membership numbers on 20th of every month for new members who complete application in the JSME site and payment by this date (Note: payment must arrive at JSME bank account by this date (if the date falls on a public holiday, Saturday, or Sunday, then the day before). Or, automatic bank account transfer application form must arrive JSME by this date). Therefore, a ROBOMECH2024 presenter must follow the schedule below.
- Complete paper registration with Membership category “Member of JSME” with “Regular (application pending)” or “Student (application pending)” options selected. (due: January 29, 2024)
- Apply for a membership in the JSME site. After that, please pay the admission fee and annual membership fee according to the guidance of the billing email. (The period from filling out the membership form to completing the membership is approximately one week. Membership registration will be done after payment is confirmed. It will take several days from payment to confirmation, so please complete the procedure as soon as possible.)
- Once your official membership number is issued, register yourself as a “Member of JSME” or “Student Member of JSME” participant. Your membership number is required. (Complete the registration before the final paper submission)
- In order to upload your final paper, you are requested to enter the following three numbers: Presentation Registration ID Number, JSME Membership number and Reservation Number. (due: March 08, 2024)
(5) If you are not a ROBOMECH2024 presenter but wish to apply for the membership package (Registration cannot be cancelled.)
- Register yourself as a “Non student” or “Student” participant. (due: April 10, 2024)
- Apply for a membership in the JSME site. (due: April 10, 2024) At that time, Select "Robomech 2024 Enrollment Pack" in the Application Information and "For Robomech 2024 Enrollment Pack" in the Payment Method. Please be sure to register an email address that you can contact in April/May 2024. (due: April 10, 2024. Note that the enrollment pack will not be applied to applications that have passed this deadline.)
